Feed & EC · WITH DRIP

Why might a cocopeat grower ask for boron in a water test?

A complete source-water assessment can reveal issues that EC alone cannot identify.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Repeated irrigation supplies specific ions to a restricted coir root zone.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Ask the crop adviser which ions are relevant to the source and crop.
  2. Check analytical units and the laboratory’s reporting limit.
  3. Review source-water contribution alongside fertiliser and any recycled drainage.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What does the report show?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Boron is reported

Have the adviser interpret the concentration for the crop and total input.

Boron was not included

Request the appropriate analysis if source history or symptoms justify it.

Units differ between reports

Resolve units with the laboratory before comparing values.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Retain the full water report rather than only its EC and pH summary.

Keep in mind

Do not infer boron suitability from conductivity or diagnose toxicity from leaf edges alone.
