THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Coir may be repacked or moved through several storage areas before use, making clear unit identification valuable.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Include a supplier-recognised batch code and product description.
  2. Make grade or treatment differences easy for staff to distinguish.
  3. Ensure codes remain readable during normal storage and handling.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Where is traceability lost?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Only pallet label exists

Record unit allocation when the pallet is broken down.

Repacking occurs

Carry the original batch reference into the new internal label.

Similar grades are confused

Use clear text and location controls rather than colour alone.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Test whether a staff member can identify a loose unit without consulting the original delivery photograph.

Keep in mind

Do not rely only on a colour sticker that has no documented meaning.
