How do I evaluate a supplier’s corrective action?

Look for evidence that the identified cause was addressed, not only a promise to be more careful.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

A coir quality issue can arise during processing, packing, sampling or handling, and the correction should match the cause.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Check that the investigation distinguishes cause from symptom.
  2. Review the change made and who is responsible for maintaining it.
  3. Agree how a later representative batch will verify the outcome.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What does the response contain?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Only a replacement offer

Discuss the cause and prevention separately from the immediate commercial remedy.

A process change

Ask how the change will be checked on subsequent production.

No confirmed cause

Agree further evidence gathering instead of accepting a speculative explanation.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Close the issue only after the agreed verification evidence is reviewed.

Keep in mind

Do not treat a single good replacement unit as proof that recurring variation has been resolved.
