THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Long fibres can affect handling and filling, but a visual impression alone does not quantify a coir grade.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Explain the intended filling or production process and any fibre-related difficulty.
  2. Agree the screening or assessment method with the supplier.
  3. Trial representative material in the actual equipment or containers.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What is the concern?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Fibres bridge small openings

Evaluate a suitable screened grade in the relevant filling process.

Fibre percentage is quoted

Ask how the percentage was measured and what size fraction it represents.

Appearance varies

Compare samples using the same assessment method before rejecting the batch.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Record the accepted grade with a representative reference sample and method.

Keep in mind

Do not treat “fibre-free” as an absolute claim without a defined assessment basis.
