THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

A broad colour estimate may not support small adjustments in a coir nutrient programme.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Check strip range, resolution, expiry and suitability for the sample.
  2. Compare difficult readings with a calibrated meter or laboratory result.
  3. Note coloured or cloudy samples that may make colour matching unreliable.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What is the decision?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

A rough screening check

Use strips within their limitations and confirm unexpected results.

A nutrient adjustment

Use a validated measurement method with sufficient resolution.

Two readings disagree

Repeat on a fresh sample and verify the instruments before changing feed.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Document which method generated each recorded pH value.

Keep in mind

Do not report more decimal precision than the measurement method can support.
