Coir & preparation · WITH COCOA

How do I compare cocopeat quotations fairly?

Compare the same deliverable, not just the lowest number on a price sheet. Different treatments and packing can explain a price difference.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

A tonne of one coir grade may not provide the same usable growing volume as another.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Align product treatment, grade, moisture basis and usable expansion expectations.
  2. Separate product, packing, inland movement, freight and other quoted charges.
  3. Confirm currency, quotation validity, quantity and which services are included.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Why do the prices differ?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Different grades

Ask for a second quotation against one shared specification before comparing.

Different delivery scope

Create a side-by-side inclusion list and request the missing costs from each supplier.

Apparently identical offers

Compare representative trial results, consistency and service commitments alongside price.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Build a comparison using agreed quantities and scope, with uncertain items visibly marked.

Keep in mind

Do not describe the lowest unit price as the lowest cost until the quantity and delivery basis match.
