Does closer spacing change problems in cocopeat containers?

Review the canopy and access between containers, not only the space taken by each root zone. Plants can outgrow an initially suitable arrangement.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Container spacing influences the local canopy environment and inspection access even when the coir grade is unchanged.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Check leaf overlap, light penetration and air movement within the canopy.
  2. Inspect whether bags or pots obstruct each other’s drainage and access.
  3. Compare inner plants with those along an open edge.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What is most restricted?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Canopy air and light

Review spacing and crop training with the adviser for the plant type and production stage.

Access to the root-zone outlets

Rearrange access safely so drainage and symptoms can be inspected regularly.

Plant support and working aisle

Review the layout before stems and roots become further entangled.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Assess spacing again as the crop develops rather than relying only on planting-day measurements.

Keep in mind

Do not apply aggressive pruning to every crop as a universal substitute for suitable spacing.
