THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Coir quality does not protect a crop from blocked outlets caused by unsuitable irrigation filtration.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Obtain the emitter manufacturer’s filtration requirement.
  2. Test or inspect source water for suspended solids, algae and precipitation risks.
  3. Confirm filter capacity, cleaning method and acceptable pressure losses for the full zone flow.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Which water source is involved?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Stored surface water

Ask the designer to account for variable biological and particulate loads.

Borewell or municipal water

Review laboratory results and deposits as well as visible clarity.

Source changes seasonally

Design maintenance and monitoring around the more demanding conditions.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Specify the complete filtration train with the irrigation supplier.

Keep in mind

A mesh number alone cannot describe how a filter will perform in every water source.
