THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

The sleeve retains the coir profile and helps define its working geometry. A tear may alter support, light exposure and drainage.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Check whether media or roots are escaping.
  2. Identify whether the tear intersects a drainage or planting opening.
  3. Look for repeated abrasion from the bench or nearby hardware.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Where is the damage?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Small tear away from outlets

Use a suitable repair method recommended for the film and monitor the root zone.

Large opening with loss of support

Seek a practical crop-preserving repair or replacement plan before moving the plant.

Several bags tear in one location

Investigate sharp edges or handling damage and correct that cause before replacing bags.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Photograph the tear and inspect nearby supports for the same wear pattern.

Keep in mind

Do not seal intended drainage openings while repairing the sleeve.
