Does the bench need to be level under coco growbags?

Check the supporting surface before changing the substrate. An uneven bench can create a repeated wet or dry pattern along otherwise similar bags.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Coir bags conform to their support. Local dips and folds can change where water collects and how drainage leaves the bag.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Check the bench under load rather than only when empty.
  2. Look for sagging supports, raised joints or folded film beneath bags.
  3. Compare the low end of an affected bag with its higher end.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Where is water collecting?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

At a local dip

Correct the support safely and verify the drainage path during the next normal irrigation.

At the end of every bag

Review the intended bench slope and bag orientation against the system design.

No clear surface pattern

Investigate outlets, filling and water distribution before attributing the problem to level alone.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Map affected bags against bench position and share the pattern with the system installer.

Keep in mind

Do not lift or tilt heavy planted bags without a safe support plan.
